I have always liked to take photos of simple scenes, since I do most of my photography outdoors.  On our way out to dinner this evening, I looked up and found the most beautiful sky, covered with the puffy white clouds you often see in stock photos.  Right above our heads!

And the tree in the upper right corner adds a bit of scale.

I was intrigued by a different kind of sky, the night of July 4.  We were at the Bellevue Downtown Park awaiting the fireworks show, and the trees on the west side of the park contrasted perfectly with the clear sky at sunset.  This almost looks like a print, and the sky gradually changed from blue to pink to black as the sun set.

The Japanese like to stick to simple but elegant forms in most things in life.  Even their food is simple and beautiful, almost to pretty to eat.  This sushi shows the simple grace of well-presented food.

Even the shaved ginger and the lump of wasabi are artfully displayed on the plate.

The day we drove up to Anacortes for a little outing, we saw an oil tanker leaving the refinery at Cherry Point.  This scene almost looks like it could be made from cut paper.

Last weekend, we had some errands to run in Redmond, so Hubby took me to a little park that he found.  There are some beautiful plantings on the perimeter of the park, and I was taken with this bush, which when I got closer showed tiny white flowers in a sea of green.

Finally, on Sundays when I strip the bed to wash the sheets, our cat likes to come and hang out with me on the bed.  Pretty simple study in black and white!
