Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #258: Fences

A fence can be a simple working device to keep people or animals out of a space like a backyard or a pasture.  This interesting fence is on the perimeter of an airport.  I thought it looked beautiful in the snow.

They are more “barriers”, but here in the Pacific Northwest there are “Sound Fences” between the freeways and the neighborhoods.  The construction companies who build these concrete fences figured out how to beautify them for the drivers who pass them at high speed.  Here are a couple from my local streets.

Sometimes, the plants which the fence is erected to keep out, simply refuse to stay behind the fence.

The fence in our backyard is not only a fence, but I think of it as an animal highway, and a staging area for the bird feeders.

Good fences do make good neighbors.

  1. LOL for the animal highway RB 😊. Loved the designs in the highway barrier. My brother has a place in Scottsdale and they do that there also. I think it’s great.
