Late! Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #264: Primary Colors

I hope “better late than never” still applies, because I will be catching up on some previous weeks’ challenges.  I admit I have been neglecting my blog lately, since when I get home from a long day at work and commute, the last thing I want to do is sit at a desk.

My first primary color photo is one I just took this weekend, after taking my new car for its first oil change.  The dealer gave Red Rover a wash and a vacuum, and I wanted to show how nice she looks when she’s all clean!

One of my favorite photos illustrating primary colors is one I took on our trip to Israel in 2007.  This painted garage door just pops with color, and illustrates sheer delight.

I know that green isn’t really a “primary” color, but I’m going to use it anyway!   This bush was so bright.

Another favorite of mine is really blue.  In fact, I had never before seen water this blue.

Just yesterday, we were at our favorite Asian grocery store, and the bright orange color of these kumquats just caught my eye.

It’s almost Autumn, my favorite season, and I am looking forward to the leaves turning red.

Fluffy-AutumnRed Japanese Maple

This is my oldest Japanese Maple tree, which I got when I first moved into my house in 2000.

This ivy-covered wall is at a local mall.  The red leaves are remarkably uniform in their color.

And, of course, any discussion of Red must include my own house!  I finally got my requested barn-red paint when we got to choose our new colors last year.

Oh, yes, I almost forgot.  The American Flag is the best use of Primary Colors!

  1. Never too late to join in and I’m glad you did. I love your peaceful blues and your reds are fantastic. I too have a Japanese maple, not as old as yours but it gives me much joy and lots of cool photos too.
