My photography is mostly landscapes and scenes without people, for some unknown reason. But I do like to do some people-watching. It was in Nashville that I photographed a very colorful character who was happy to pose for me. He just looked so pleased with himself!

On that same trip to Nashville, we went to dinner with some Ricochet friends, and met a couple who we had only known from online. They turned out to be the nicest, warmest people (as are most Ricochet members). And they are both Air Force veterans!

I have been horse-crazy since childhood, and when we went to the Western Washington Fair two years ago, we were lucky enough to catch some young ladies exercising their horses, waiting for their competition to start. Just watching them elicited such yearning in my heart, wishing I were younger and able to ride again.

What poise! And what a beautiful horse!
Particularly inspiring were some ladies who welcomed us to Lahaina, when our cruise ship stopped at Maui. They were doing the traditional hula dance, and you felt you were really in Hawaii. Today, knowing that Lahaina basically burned to the ground, makes this photo quite poignant.

Every year, we go to the Leavenworth International Accordion Celebration, in the touristy mountain town of Leavenworth. The event draws accordion players from little kids to adults, and the Accordion Parade through downtown to the Gazebo in always fun.

And when the competition is done, everyone lines up for photos. I just love watching the kids compete!

Kids in Leavenworth don’t all play the accordion. Some come with their parents to see the town, and partake of all its goodies. And goodies in profusion, there are. Everyone loves ice cream!

I will leave you with an action photo, of people playing the only sport I willingly watch. If you have never seen a professional squash match, you really should. Just go on YouTube and search on “pro squash” for some exciting sports. My hubby is a competitive squash player, and when the pros come to town, we go to see them play.

Well done RB – especially loved all of those little accordionists! Who knew it was still such a popular instrument?!
Wonderful candid photography!
What fun! The squash post with its reflections is especially good but I liked the one with the children eating ice cream at lot too.
