Fall colors in my neck of the woods

I live in the Puget Sound area of Western Washington, and most of our trees are evergreen (Washington isn’t called the Evergreen State for nothing). But we do have our share of deciduous trees, and fall is my favorite season. Here are some bright fall colors I have seen this week.

Maples

This line of trees screens the water tower right outside the gates of my neighborhood. It’s a good thing I took this photo when I did, since high winds blew most of the leaves off the next day!

Office park road

This nice tunnel of red leaves is in the office park where I work.

These beautiful trees are in the parking lot of a manufacturing company in the same office park.

The photo above, and the next ones, are of street trees and lawns in the downtown area of my town. I drove up to the county offices to drop off our ballots, and took these on the way back to my car. When scouting for fall colors, I have learned to look down as well as up.

Here are a couple from previous years.

Pear leaves

This one is from the tree in front of our house.

We have two of these trees that turn this shade of red in November before the leaves all fall off. They only last about five days, so we have to pay close attention.

I hope you have enjoyed these colorful leaves.
