And this is not an exaggeration, either! When you read a news headline that includes the words “two dozen shell casings” and “turf war between pimps,” you know that it’s not just your everyday crime situation. With the Seattle City Council defunding the police, and officers quitting right and left, my former city (I do not set foot there now) is in deep trouble, with crime increasing and enforcement spotty at best. And when the criminals are caught, the corrupt King County judges let them out without bail to offend over and over again.

Turf War Between Pimps Leads to Shootout on Aurora Avenue. Aurora Avenue, Highway 99 north from Seattle has been a prime spot for prostitution for years, with periodic emphasis patrols having little to no effect on the sex trade. Women parade up and down both sides of the street, and anyone wanting a little paid roll in the hay can find it easily. The city designates “no prostitution” zones, which are totally ignored by both the ladies and their customers. Everyone is satisfied but the neighbors and businesses along the highway.
Nearly two dozen shell casings litter the scene where teens shot in Seattle’s South Park. South Park is a mostly-industrial neighborhood along the Duwamish River in South Seattle. It is also the some of many Hispanic people, an unknown number of whom are illegals and gang members. This smells of gang warfare to me.

And how do they propose to solve the crime problem? Seattle considers stricter limits on less-lethal weapons as federal oversight nears end. Yes, Seattle, which has had zero luck getting guns out of the hands of criminals, considers restricting other weapons to the police for crowd control! With all kinds of crime skyrocketing, Seattle handcuffs its law-enforcement officers. Seattle is a hotbed of Antifa activity, and if these measures pass, they will have an easier time causing havoc against people and businesses. The police accountability board in Seattle is very powerful, and one of the reasons the city can’t keep officers is that every move is second-guessed by civilians who still think of the police as pigs.
Meanwhile, south of town:
Puyallup police chief calls for policy reform after three juvenile shooting arrests. There have also been multiple escapes from the local juvenile detention facility, and most of the escapees were armed.

New story circulating. This is the area of Seattle where I grew up.
And then, at the start of the new super-majority-DemocRat legislative session in Olympia, no fewer than SIX gun-control bills are proposed. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over, and expecting different results. They don’t care that no gun control law has ever been effective at fighting crime, but they continue to infringe on the public’s Second Amendment rights, making self-defense more difficult, and more murders the obvious result. The people of Seattle, who basically run the entire state, keep electing them.

I visited Seattle once and laughed out loud repeatedly at what a self absorbed giant virtue signal that mediocre city is. There were ten times as many Black Lives Matter signs as black people. It’s the whitest alleged city I’ve ever seen. The vibe in Seattle is that of an overpriced liberal arts college campus kind of like a colder, unfriendly version of Austin. That town full of color cutter juvenile progressive smuggery deserves exactly what it does to itself.
