Since John said we could pick our own word for this week, mine is Reflections. Since I live in a state, Washington, that has numerous big and small bodies of water, reflections are pretty easy to find. Just yesterday, as I was on my travels around town, I noticed that our local lake, Silver Lake, was pretty flat, with just wide ripples, and I stopped to take a walk around the south-east corner of the lake. Great reflections were everywhere!
I was especially taken with this lone paddler out in the middle of the lake. No other boats were out that day, which is pretty unusual since mild days are rare at this time of year.

The clouds overhead made an interesting reflection, and a tiny bit of tree in the upper right corner.

Not too far from shore, just the tip of a submerged tree branch looked pretty lonely, with its reflection as its only companion.

Closer to shore, a couple of coots and a tree cast their reflections in the ripples. This kind of reflection looks like abstract art to me.

Northeast of us on the Everett waterfront, the city has a very nice marina, and has built it out with shops and restaurants. It’s always fun to go down there and admire the boats.

And finally, this shot has always been my personal favorite at Silver Lake, taken in November of 2020. The lake was absolutely flat, and the clouds and trees made a just perfect reflection.
