I came across an unusual story today, and wondered why I had not heard of it before. It seems that archaeologists in Australia discovered some very puzzling hominid fossils in their wilderness (most of the continent!). They have been studying those fossils for a while with no difficulties.

This article and the comments on it indicate that some aboriginal people there have declared that these fossils are their ancestors, and demanded they be returned to their tribes for re-burial. Yes, they want the fossils back so they can be buried, and the scientists denied the ability to study them. And the Australian government has agreed to this. Read below.
