It’s Official. RushBabe49 is retired.

Yesterday was my final day at work. Like I told my boss, I was productive until the last possible minute. I answered emails, adjusted PO delivery dates based upon shipping information that came in, and cleaned up my Documents and email files.

At least for a while, I don’t have to worry about being forgotten. I leave behind hundreds of open purchase orders, with delivery dates out into next year. When my successor is hired, my POs will be assigned to that person, but my initials will remain forever.

I was gratified to receive many very nice emails from my suppliers, telling me how much they enjoyed working with me. A few even sent gifts, which I was quite surprised to receive. A supplier in Taiwan sent some fine Chinese tea, which I am eager to try; a Japanese supplier sent some delightful crocheted flowers, which are beautiful, and will never wilt!

A coworker gave me this:

And my best friend gave me these.

My first try at retirement was a bust, since it wasn’t my choice. I got quickly bored, and went back to work at my first opportunity. This time, it’s my choice, and I do have some rough plans.

Unfortunately, before I can act on those plans, I will have to recover from my broken toes, which are the result of being a klutz and walking into a metal ladder.

The Boot of Shame

After catching up on my sleep, I plan to spend more time on this blog, and clean up and refresh my Photos page. I have some photography projects in mind. I also plan to get my gun out of storage and take some shooting lessons, so I can feel more confident to defend myself from the Leftist loonies out there.

In two weeks, we go to Leavenworth for the Accordion Celebration, and we both are looking forward to that. Expect a report here in July.

Onward!
