This year’s LIAC was great fun, and the weather was just perfect. It was mostly sunny, though windy. The temperatures were mostly in the 70s, which was just right for wandering around town. The crowds were manageable and there was enough seating everywhere.
Here are some of the sights.

I was surprised to notice, for the first time, the owl and cat painted on the exterior of a downtown hotel. A reminder to pay attention to your surroundings. Whoever designed those decorations was very clever!

Wildlife sightings at our hotel.

After checking out of our hotel on Sunday, we took a drive up Icicle Creek on the outskirts of town. We stopped at an important trailhead, at the start of the trails leading to the Enchantments Wilderness area. This is one of the most strenuous hikes in the eastern Cascades, but thousands of hikers do it each year. Some scenery:

On the way back, we stopped so I could take some photos of the Wenatchee River from a bridge.

Altogether, an excellent trip.
