Happy Caturday, the day of the week devoted to the promotion and recognition of our furry feline masters. In Western Washington, we are in the midst of what the meteorologists call an “atmospheric river”, known to the rest of the world as a rainstorm. It is mild, rainy, and windy, well-known to natives.
The Lady Kikyo, my 15-year-old kitty owner, spends most of her days like this.

We get most of our weather from the west. The Pacific Ocean is to our west, so the rain is fairly predictable. Yesterday our forecasters told us to take in the fall colors now, since the wind should blow them off the trees in the next couple of days.
So here are the pretty colors that remain in our neighborhood.

Hubby named the Japanese maple, when he moved in with me after we married in 2003.

It survived the big storm of 2015, which brought down a big cedar tree, and sheared off one of its big branches. It has hung in there very well.
Happy Autumn Caturday to everyone!
