Last week we had a wind and rainstorm, and I saw photos posted by a weather guy, of Snoqualmie Falls in flood conditions. So, since this afternoon was sunny, we drove up to see what we could see.

This is just the top of the falls. All that water falling very fast throws off considerable spray, getting your photography equipment wet! This is about 19,000 Cubic Feet Per Second.

Now you can see the spray off the bottom of the falls.

Now, you can see the river below, and the spray. I was also intrigued by the tree, with its yellow leaves, growing right out of the rock wall on the opposite bank. And we got there right at sunset!
Next, here’s a little video, so you can get an idea of what all that water sounds like.
Not only were the falls picturesque, but foliage and wildlife were in evidence for us to enjoy. Like this little guy who posed for me.

He obligingly sat still so I could take his picture!

Looking up:

Now, look up, and out!

The Moon looked misshapen, before we noticed that it’s not quite full yet. This week will see another Super Moon, and this shot is just missing its lower left sliver.
Good night, Moon.
The road coming in from the north, however, is horrendous and has been for years. Not sure why they don’t fix it with the amount of traffic that comes up the Fall City Rd (Hwy 202). I drive or ride through there pretty frequently as the road from Monroe to North Bend avoids Seattle traffic.
