So, in honor of the Year of the Horse (I have been horse-crazy since childhood), here are some horses that caught my eye and my fancy.
My ultimate favorite horse breed is Friesian. They are magnificent, and I think they are the most beautiful with their shiny black coats, and manes that would make any woman anywhere jealous!
The Andalusian may come next in my estimation.
They may have come to America with the Spanish Conquistadors. Before then, there were no horses in North America.
Central Asia has an abundance of horses. Ghengis Kahn and his hordes rode horses to conquer.
The American West is still the land of wild horses.
Queen Elizabeth is well-known for her Corgi dogs. Did you know she was a horse-person too?
Also in England, horses have excellent manners. Play the video, and smile!
This one horse combines my two very favorite horses! Friesian and Appaloosa.
Even Prehistoric Man loved his horses. Look at this great Cave Art found in France. The artists had a real eye for their horses.
Also, see the painting of the rhinoceros in the lower left corner. Can you believe they existed in Europe at the same time?!
