Since all of my photos these days are taken with my iPhone 15 Pro, it’s pretty easy for me to find them to post!

Since it’s April, and the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival is in progress, I thought I’d start with this one from 2023. The Skagit Valley of Washington is the second-largest provider of tulip bulbs in the world, after Netherlands. Rows of mixed colors are rare in the valley, and these just stood out to me.

I was taken with this barn in rural Michigan. I especially like the red border on the roof-it makes the photo a bit more colorful, and draws your attention to the lack of color in the snow-covered fields.

People will recognize my cat, Kikyo. This photo was taken with my first smartphone, an iPhone XR, before I knew how wonderful the camera was (if I had known, I would have bought a better model). This photo demands a caption, and I gave it one: How Dare You Disturb My Nap, Mama?

This has always been one of my favorite photos, taken in December of 2020 when our governor had the state under tight Covid restrictions. The reflection of the clouds over Silver Lake was so crisp and defined.
Speaking of reflections, the boats at the Everett Marina in the moonlight were what I was after, but I didn’t even notice the stars in the sky until I uploaded the photo to my computer!

See the Big Dipper? This photo confirmed how great the camera in my phone is. No post-processing was needed.

One of the huge benefits of having a camera with you always is the ability to find the beauty in mundane, everyday objects. These are chestnuts for sale at our Asian grocery store. If you zoom in on them, you see how the shape and texture is different on every individual nut. This store goes to a lot of trouble to make their displays pleasing to the eye, and every time we go there, I am on the lookout for good photos. They never disappoint.

I was lucky to capture this Townsend’s Warbler when he showed up in our backyard. I have even given him a name: Bandit.

This may be the best photo I have ever taken with my phone, and it was an iPhone 13 Pro in 2021. From an airplane window, flying East over the Cascades. It was a pretty new aircraft, and the window was in good shape.
Here’s the Link to this week’s original post. Thanks, Tina!
