Devastating flood damage in the Carolinas from Hurricane Helene. Media and Feds Ignore It. Updated Sunday 9/29.

My headline is not a joke. I visited four media web sites, including some known as being impartial and conservative. Not one had a banner headline about the devastation in Eastern Tennessee and Western North Carolina. Entire towns are being swept away, millions of people are losing homes and property, more millions are without power, cell service, and food and water. The person who still bears the title of President has been totally silent about what is happening in his country, and even FEMA has been silent and absent. This is criminal. Here are some real stories from real people.

In the post above, dozens of comments say “Do not donate to the Red Cross, they are totally corrupt.”

So, I think you should get the idea by now. The federal government is leaving these people to help themselves. No feds anywhere on the scene. None of the posts above mention FEMA at all. Rural residents tend to be pretty self-sufficient, but the scale of this disaster has overwhelmed everyone. Elon Musk is providing StarLink service to these communities. He is a big hero here.

I will leave you with one last informative post, because this is one of my big pet peeves, as my followers will already be aware. Sorry, I just couldn’t help myself.

Once again, Twitter/X proves to be the best source of breaking news.

Now for some updates on Sunday, September 29.

According to gkgigs.com, North Carolina is a Red state. Does that have anything to do with it? As far as getting FEMA help, FEMA didn’t do much at all to help the survivors of the Lahaina fires.

  2. As the Lahaina residents were suffering devastation, the local FEMA crew were at a resort attending a DEI training program. (I believe that was mentioned in a NY Post story today or yesterday, sorry I don’t have the link, but I saw it on Instapundit.) I suspect the agency’s priorities may be skewed.
