It’s the Month of April. Do you know what that means? The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival is on all month.

So Hubby and I drove from our home in Everett to see the tulips. It was a perfect day too. Bright and sunny with not a cloud in the sky. Our first stop was not for anything but for Hubs to get out and stretch his legs. I got out and got my first photos of the day.

Mount Baker was out in all its splendor.

Other snowy Cascade peaks were just barely visible behind the local hills.

Then on a back road with little traffic, we found a nice tulip field where we could leave the car and get our fill of bright colors.

I found that I really liked the field of purple ones, dotted at random with different colors. Nature wins out!

Now, if the flowers look a little blurry, it’s because the wind was blowing at about 10mph and everything was moving!

When we had our fill of tulips, we drove into the town of LaConner. We visited the Wheelers’ photography gallery so I could show Hubby, then we walked down the Main Street. We dropped into a shop for coffee and ice cream, then headed back to the car. I was taken with the very old mural on the front of one of the buildings.

And this little display was just so cute!

I just hope those red boots don’t try to walk away with it!

Finally I bet this car is owned by a local resident unhappy with all the tourist traffic in April.

On the way out, we slowed down on a bridge over the Skagit River.

Skagit River is high in April.

Altogether, a productive and pleasant trip.
