As I understand it, the word “Palestine” is a derivative, or perhaps a synonym, of “Philistine.” FWIW. That seems to be an historical debunking of the whole “Palestinian people” narrative, as does the fact (I believe) that the modern usage of the term originated with the British partitioning of the Holy Land following WW2. Today’s “Palestinians” are no different from any of the various Arab tribes who have lived in the area since before the Old Testament days.
