My own weight-loss program has been going fine since February. I have lost over 25 pounds, and I can get into clothes that I grew out of years ago. It feels great! And my secret is eliminating a lot of sugar from my diet.
However, I found a post on X today that made me laugh.
A lot of the comments said something about finding a belt big enough.
Also found memes.

I actually looked for fat memes, and didn’t find many. That’s a good thing!

Our new HHS director is doing his best to help Americans get healthy again.
Interesting– the “chubby” is closest to actual healthy weight in the sizing meme, while “average” is actually thin (as well as being young, which confuses things), and the one noted as “thin” is actual health issues.
That would actually match with BMI tests, where that screening mechanism that filters so it misses no more than .5% of those who are too high on the weight scale (with massive false positives) showed that “over weight” was objectively healthiest. Obese and BMI healthy had the same long term health outcomes.
This has happened repeatedly, and the folks involved didn’t get grants anymore. The studies weren’t bad, they just showed that BMI is terrible.
Glad you’re getting your weight where you’re happy with it!
We went up to Snoqualmie Falls yesterday and last night Ray told me that he can tell that I am getting narrower. He followed me down the steps, and commented on another person. He likes to joke about “aspect ratio”. My doctors are both happy with my progress, and I figure that I have about 15 more pounds to go. Weaning off sugar is harder than quitting smoking.
