Contrary to popular belief, X is not just political and cat videos. There are thousands of accounts that provide interesting and informative stories about historical figures and movements, from all over the world. I follow dozens of people who post enlightened information about people and places that I was totally unaware of before.

Apropos of nothing, other than a single link to a story about the Norman conquest of England, direct descendant here of William d’Orsay, a knight who rode with the Conqueror and was granted lands, and his wife Elizabeth. The names William and Elizabeth continue in our family after 1,059 years. I’m quite proud of that. For no particularly good reason except that I think it’s cool.
