It turns out that cows might be the most perfect creature for the land and for humans. They eat plant matter, not only feed prepared for them, but natural grass, and “waste” corn stalks after the corn has been harvested, among other food.

After they eat the plants, the food passes through their complex digestive system, where myriads of helpful micro-organisms break down the food and nourish the cow, so it can grow, have its own babies, and be turned into the most nutrient-dense food for people to eat, beef. Their manure fertilizes the land that they graze on too.
