Well, this challenge has a condition, only six images allowed. I choose green, which has never really been my favorite color. I gave it some thought, and it’s not the color green that I don’t like, it’s just particular shades. I don’t like Kelly green, or chartreuse. But I do live mint-green, and my favorite t-shirt is one from the Leavenworth International accordion celebration, which is a nice shade of mint green. Also, I got the idea that I’m not the only one who likes that shade-when I was shopping on the Lands’ End Web Site for some new shirts, I found one in my favorite shade, and they were sold out!
First is a photo I just took yesterday afternoon, from the parking garage of Bellevue Square, an upscale local mall.

I loved how the sun illuminated the green leaves, and the twisting branches added to the texture of the leaves.
The next one is the water just below Deception Falls, on Deception Creek in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. It’s off US Highway 2, just before you arrive at Stevens Pass. The State has made a delightful little nature trail there, and you go under the highway to get to the main falls. This section is on the north side of the highway.

I was quite taken with the crystal clarity of the water there.

I don’t know about you, but this house in my neighborhood was painted the most hideous green! Our homes get re-painted every seven years, and we can choose our color. This one didn’t last long in that color-even the owners decided it was ugly and re-painted it shortly thereafter.

You wouldn’t think that something this green would be a desert plant, but that’s where we found this in California, near Palm Springs. Who can tell me what it is?

They don’t call Washington the Evergreen State for nothing! And the water is the coolest shade of blue-green in Diablo Lake. The color comes from minerals in the North Cascades, where glaciers feed a number of lakes.
Grasses are some of my favorite plants, and I was taken with this particular stand of them. The yellow-green makes them shine.

Here’s the link to the original post, and Tina’s too.
