Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #296: Abstract

I just love patterns, both in nature and man-made. I’ll often photograph a chair with an interesting upholstery pattern, or even a piece of furniture, like the bench below. I spotted this on a walk through downtown Bellevue, Washington last week. It’s remarkable how you can actually bend slices of wood into undulations not normally seen.

This beach in the late afternoon can be confusing-what is it you are really looking at?

Who knew that simple water droplets on the hood of my red car could turn into an abstract?

This carnation looks delightfully abstract.

Of course, white clouds in a blue sky are always nice abstract patterns. With the tree as additional abstraction.

Water is always abstract, its waves and ripples inviting contemplation.

And who knew that a simple blanket on the floor could turn into a piece of abstract art?

Here’s the Link to this week’s Original Post. And Tina’s too!

  1. Bended plywood is a great choice, just view months back I saw some beautiful art by Tapio Wirkkala done with it- abstract and so clever. and the shape of fabric laying n the floor and the water ( 3rd from the bottom are great choices for this theme.
