After the election, wherein the Republican presence in political offices in Washington State was considerably reduced, we are aware that our Lords and Masters have vastly increased costs of living ready to lay on us. This comment on X was in response to a conjecture that the DemocRats will be instituting a “delivery tax” on home-delivered food and other items. They simply can’t imagine ANY good or service which cannot be taxed to support their fever dreams of…what? The commenter allowed me to reprint this, to give the voters an idea of the effects of their votes. The commenter especially discusses the effects of the “Climate Commitment Act” that was NOT repealed this week (possibly due to the very misleading ballot description, written by opponents of repeal).
1 of 2) Thank you. As a 58 year old with a traumatic brain injury and a recent diagnosis of retinitis pigmentosa (going blind, no peripheral vision and now losing my central vision), I am unable to drive. I rely on services such as Instacart. My husband regularly works over 60 hours a week to make ends meet. We already pay inflated Instacart prices and have to add a tip. Legally disabled and no free services to assist. So we are stuck ALREADY paying insane delivery fees. I agree. What I am most curious about is how do legislators personally afford all of the continuing tax increases? Our home of 3 years has realized a 30% property tax increase. State manipulated language so we voted in more taxes. Our community just passed two new tax initiatives. When does this the legislature realize they are public servants NOT self serving posers who are playing with real men money? For example, this new wind farm in the Yakima Valley. I am not an expert however I personally get information from a husband who is a Master Journeyman Electrician. He says wind power is the least efficient and most dirty energy. Wind power cannot be stored. Hydro power can. So with wind power, if you don’t use it you lose it. Also ranchers are finding the the vibrations in the ground are affecting cattle with damaged feet, lower weight. Like damage linked to all of the beached whales on the East Coast by offshore wind turbines. Additionally, my best friends so has worked on wind turbines for the past few years. He comes home covered in the grease needed to run and maintain the turbines. Barrels and barrels of oily grease. The blades spew the dirty droplets into the air plus the ground around the turbines collects the spilled petroleum. Not today, next year or even decades from now the Yakima River may not be impacted however what research has been done to show that rain and snow won’t cause the petroleum to seep into the ground and eventually create contamination—which effects agriculture and drinking water. How much knowledge does the legislature have about the lifespan of the turbines. The defunct blades are buried into the ground somewhere and the huge batteries needed to run the turbines are toxic and they get buried somewhere as well. I understand the need to protect salmon. What I don’t understand is why the legislature thinks wind is a good option. I also think the legislature chases money with no consideration of the consequences. Every action has a reaction. CDBG provide funding for projects however how effective can project funding be to address for example homelessness. When governments can use 75% on administration and the remainder on providing the actual services—no wonder the ROI leads to 140 people being served at over $1 million per person each year. We are not creating 140 millionaires. I am guessing all 140 are still homeless. I may not always get my facts 100% correct however the examples I have provided are real. I am sure that many share my same concerns. Several years ago, prior to a car accident leaving me with lifelong disabilities, I attended several legislative sessions. Work for my employer. There were a few smart people however I found that when legislators got together for a free meal hosted by lobbyists, education or healthcare entities who were trying to woo votes of support (totally guilty of this tactic) legislators were odd and genuinely posers. Big egos with little expertise. I appreciate your service and viewpoint on increasing taxes on delivery services being ridiculous. I am turned off by devision tactics. I could give a shit about political parties and bravado (or little man’s syndrome), I am passionate about Washingtonians working their asses off to keep their heads above the water line, and WA state officials taking advantage and manipulating our citizens who do not have the time to question, research or do a deeper dive on the facts. I am old enough to say that Washington had a different vibrancy 40 yrs ago.
I, too, am old enough to remember the vibes from 40 years ago. I have basically given up on the state I was born in 75 years ago, and I want out so badly that I can taste it. The Leftists who run this state will destroy what made it beautiful, and they will get rich doing it. They are Evil.
This is so sad. But you need to come to Free Texas. Yesterday I paid 3.09.9 for 93 octane super premium fuel at ExxonMobil. There is no state income tax. We don’t have the same kind of natural beauty as the PNW, but the sane still greatly outnumber the insane when elections roll around. And there natural beauty here, just mostly different from that of your home state. Come on down. 😎
