How ‘independent’ can an ‘independent’ media outlet be if they cannot function without US taxpayer funding? They were funded during a time when US policy was to promote a proxy war with Russia. It seems safe to conclude that USAID policies support war. I believe this support is a policy fostered by the Neo-Cons and the US security state apparatus (aka Deep State). It doesn’t have broad popular support among the electorate. That’s not to say that funding in itself is bad, the funding achieves influence, but that influence biases the news in a way that is destructive to the lives and happiness of the Ukrainian people and nation. The pro-war anti-Russia message is unraveling. The war has not redounded to the betterment of the Ukrainian people or the United States.
