There are numerous posts on X this week, from soccer fans visiting Seattle for the first time. They all rave about Seattle’s natural beauty and the sunny mild weather. Many mention the good food at our many local restaurants.
I was born and raised in Seattle, and I never take it for granted. So I thought I’d go through my archives and find some photos of my travels around here.

Starting close to home, I spend a fair amount of time by Silver Lake, about a mile from my home. It is lovely in any season or at any time of day.

Puget Sound is a very short distance to the west.

The above photo was taken from the deck of a Washington State Ferry.

They ply the Puget Sound from Tacoma to Vancouver BC in all weathers. I always suggest that visitors take a ferry ride to admire the scenery on both sides!
The Skagit Valley north of us has some of the most fertile soil in America, and is the second largest producer of tulip bulbs outside of Holland. We go up all the time.

Drive east on US Highway 20, to get to North Cascades National Park.

Seattle. All photos taken prior to 2021.

Snoqualmie Falls is a popular sight for both locals and tourists.

My town of Everett has a fabulous waterfront. Its marina is populated with all kinds of watercraft, from little kayaks to huge yachts.

I hope this taste of our area has inspired you to visit.
