The Queen Mary 2 sails out the mouth of the St Lawrence, and heads down toward Nova Scotia. We have a Sea Day with no port calls.
From our balcony.

When we returned to our cabin after lunch, conditions had changed a bit.

I am a bit embarrassed to admit that, until I was an adult, I had not realized that the sea reflects the color of the sky! On an overcast day, the ocean appears gunmetal, but under a cloudless sky, the sea can be such an incredible blue!
Unfortunately it’s too windy and cold to sit outside and watch the water.
And then, another ship came into view, and we overtook it. The name on the side is Polsteam.

Well, I looked them up, and Polsteam is a Polish dry-bulk carrier, which carries commodities such as metal ores, timber, and other bulk commodities all over the world. My guess is the vessel we saw probably was carrying iron ore, a principal product of the Sept Iles region of Canada.
And then, we saw it…

No whales yet.
