Amateur musicians needed for all-comers orchestra in Everett, WA

Hey, all you adult amateurs with the old instrument in the closet-get it out and come play with the Music Hall Community Orchestra. No auditions, everyone welcome! We rehearse on Tuesdays from 6-8PM in the OLD theater in the Everett Mall (take a left when coming out the south door of Macy’s into the mall). The orchestra is sponsored by the Snohomish County Music Project, and we have access to the Everett Symphony music library.  In the past, we have played music from the Harry Potter movies, music from Star Wars and Lord of the Rings, Handel’s Water Music, and much more.  It’s all great fun, so come and play with us!  We will be doing some reading sessions this summer, and we need everyone! We need all winds, brass, and strings. Please reply to this post if you are interested.

I would be interested in joining your Orchestra. I will have to ‘brush up’ on my violin playing skills, as they have laid dormant for many a year. Are you still in need if strings? Can I show up on a Tuesday to listen in?

    1. Yes to all your questions, Pauline! We would be delighted to have you join our orchestra. Sight-reading sessions scheduled every Tuesday in August, at 6PM in the old theater at Everett Mall.

That sounds great!! Due to my schedule, I won’t be able to attend till November or so. Do you practice year round? Can I join at any time?

    1. Well, we do have three clarinets, but all additional players are very welcome. Sometimes people play other parts (flute plays oboe part, clarinet plays viola part). Please join us! We have rehearsal tonight at 6PM, at the old theater in the Everett Mall (around the back of Macy’s, follow the banners on the side of the building).

    1. We have a pianist, BUT she and her hubby are snowbirds, and they leave for AZ in the winter. We can always use another-come any time. This summer, we are meeting every other week for sight-reading with our new conductor, and we start regular rehearsals in September. We’d love to have you.
