The Stasi comes to America

Do you know who the Stasi were? They were the ubiquitous secret police of Communist East Germany. They infiltrated every aspect of society, where citizens were urged to report their friends, coworkers, and even family members for activities against the State. No one could trust any other person. The State had a file on every single person and when the Berlin Wall fell, people got to see their own files, with information on who ratted them out.

Do you think that can’t happen here? Think again.

It can happen here

If Kamala Harris is elected president you can be certain that it will happen here. The apparatus is already in place (see January 6 arrests, see Twitter Files). Be very careful when you cast your vote in November.

No one likes a snitch, but this seems more extreme. Kamala doesn’t just want people to snitch on their loved ones, she says in the linked post that it is “our” duty to punish loved ones who share misinformation. By “our,” is she talking from the point of view of the government, or does she mean family members have a duty to administer punishment themselves. Fine for the government if they can look the other way and get the family members to exercise discipline on other family members, it would make the ‘discipline’ invisible. But what does that punishment mean exactly? Does it mean bed confinement, physical punishment, withholding of access to bank cards, involuntary psychological commitment? It seems this would require a special kind of brainwashing and conditioning on the family members who elect to apply the ‘discipline’ to do it without intervention of the government. That is really creepy.
