Just today, from overnight, this is what went on in Pioneer Square, the downtown historic district.
Street takeovers by young people who block off the intersection and drive their cars around, skidding and throwing people every which way. This is near the soccer stadium where the first matches will be played on Monday. By the way, the City has closed many of the surrounding streets to vehicle traffic (except for bikes and scooters).
Seattle’s Socialist Mayor, Katie Wilson, has vowed to remove the homeless (street vagrants and drug addicts) in Seattle into new “tiny home” shelters, mostly away from downtown. She still subscribes to the expensive and mostly ineffective “housing first” policy. That policy is the one that mostly enriches her buddies in the NGO, Homeless-Industrial Complex, doing nothing to treat the mental illness and drug addiction that are the real problems keeping people “unhoused”.

This is mainly what visitors to Seattle will see.
Tourists, beware of scams targeting visitors. Welcome to Seattle.
Jose Rizal Park is a very large wooded area, that has been heavily populated by homeless drug addicts. The city has swept it regularly, but the tents and filth keep coming back. Most homeless addicts REFUSE services, with no consequences. Seattle just lets them remain on the street, to steal, use drugs, and die of overdoses. In fact, the “Harm Reduction” policy actually ENABLES continual drug addiction. Harm not Reduced, Harm Enabled.
Drinking fountains used as showers by homeless street vagrants. Would you drink from that?
The homeless RVs are broken down fire hazards, where their owners regularly cook methamphetamines and blown-up vehicles are common. Great picture of a welcoming city.
Both Iran and Egypt are Islamist countries. They don’t take lightly to homosexuality, and tend to throw them off tall buildings. What will fans from those countries do to all the homosexual fans in the stands? What will happen AFTER those matches, in the streets around the stadium? It can’t be good.
About the new “amenities” downtown…
This could have been, and WAS, predicted. Comments all said “wait a week, and they will all be trashed”. Seattleites are pretty smart, having seen this situation before. But the Left never learns.
And here it is.

Seattle Welcome.
Just imagine the scene after dark. With loads of foreign fans and tourists, along with the dearth of police presence in Seattle.
Personally, I don’t think Seattle is ready.
