I have followed Alastair Hilton on X for a couple of years, and literally every post is a little gem, each one having a photograph and a little essay. He lives on a narrow-boat on an English canal, bought a new “sailing boat” last summer, spends a lot of his time in pubs (where he downloads and organizes files from his photo shoots), and has the cutest little granddaughter! He has kept a sharp and discerning eye on the situation in England since the Labour Party took over the government, and he has a lot to say about the conditions where he lives, and in the other places where he travels for photographic assignments. I will post some of his essays, and then the links to the X originals.
And now I’m here in Trafalgar Square in London on this gorgeous Monday morning. For nearly two hundred years, this square has been open, but because of the recent mental health condition that affects Muslims, causing them to shout Allahu Akbar before driving their vehicles into crowds of innocent people to kill them, we have to have these barriers. Here and on every bridge in London. Every single public place. Because solving the mental health condition would be very difficult so this is how we have to live now. Remember though boys and girls: diversity is our strength.
This is such a crying shame. The frontage of this shop in central London is one of the very, very last examples of an original Georgian shop front in London. It’s great that it’s survived, but sad that it’s a shop full of absolute tut. The interior partition in my photos here, is actually Grade II listed but almost disappears amongst the stuff inside. Strange that a shop with no customers ever, in a prime central location can keep going.
t seems to have come as a surprise to some people why we’ve run out of water in Britain. Climate change they shout. Well, I can’t help thinking that by not building even one new reservoir for 34 years, whilst importing ten billion trillion people from around the world, it was inevitable. If the water companies just put their prices up yet again so they can pay it straight to shareholders, as they have been doing in all that time, that should solve it for next summer. And the summer after that. And the summer after that.
For context, the summer of 2026 was very hot all over Europe. The Net Zero climate-change policies of most European countries, including Britain, punish people who choose to install air-conditioning in their homes, businesses, or apartments. Fans were even out of stock in many places, and many people died in their sweltering homes because there was no place for them to go to cool off.
It’s rained today in London. Just read about Sadiq Khan, the London mayor, going to do an event for just black people in Trafalgar Square. When I was young, there were events. Events for British people. There weren’t one set of events for Pakistanis, one for Indians and one for blacks. But then again, that was before there was a mayor who hates white people. Before there was a government who would do everything to crush white people and give everyone else everything (paid for by the white people). A time when there weren’t a majority of people who came from countries destroyed by tribal and ethnic and religious wars. But now, white people must sit and take the abuse and the kicking from those in charge and realise that they have no worth in this country. Except to pay for it all, of course.
Morning you gorgeous people. Today it’s the 60th anniversary of the Notting Hill Carnival. For those who don’t know, it’s where people celebrate their heritage by dressing up, dancing in the street and having a wonderful party. Others celebrate by stabbing each other to death, sexually assaulting women, beating the shit out of policemen and women, destroying property and looting shops. My photo from a previous Notting Hill Carnival.
Today I launch my new reforms to get people to work, revitalise Britain’s cities and give the country a fresh way forwards. I’m calling it the Get off your arse, get a job and pay your way act. Anyone living in taxpayer funded housing and claiming benefits, will have six months to get a job and come off benefits. Failure to do so will result in them being moved to Middlesbrough. If after a further six months they can’t pay their way, they will be moved to the Falkland Islands, where they will be housed in a tent with sleeping bag. They will then be given enough wood and building materials to build themselves a raft which they are free to use to sail to a country of their choice. The houses and flats that they were originally living in will be let to working people who aren’t claiming benefits but who can’t afford to live in London or anywhere else. They will get them for life at 80 percent discount on market rents as long as they work and don’t claim benefits. This act will save £322 billion in one year. The money saved will be used to reduce income tax to zero. This will result in massive extra spending, enormous creation of new jobs and immense happiness and positivity throughout Britain, which shall become known as Great Britain. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Have a lovely Sunday. Cheers 🥂
What happened to Katie Hopkins @KTHopkinsis a prime example of how left wing, lefties operate (I hate the terms left wing or right wing. Right wing was a term invented by the left wing to make normal people feel bad for expressing their views. So henceforth, I shall refer to all right wing people as decent folk and all left wing people as twats). When the decent folk hear an opinion from the twats that they don’t agree with, they try to reason with them. To point out why they’re wrong with facts and debate. When a twat doesn’t like something that the decent folk say, they want to destroy them. To crush them. To remove their livelihood. To ruin them. Destroy their family. They threaten and bully. They threaten everyone who might ever even speak to that decent person. It is the way of the twats. Giving in to their bullying though, doesn’t make them stop. It makes them carry on. More and more and more until they’ve not only destroyed the decent folk but all of society. So, as Katie Hopkins has shown, standing up to them is the only way to make society better. Be more like Katie and less like a twat.
Katie Hopkins.
took this photo yesterday morning at about 5 o’clock. One only needs a glimpse of this lion to know that it is sat at the base of Nelson’s column in Trafalgar Square, London. Built to commemorate Nelson’s victory at The Battle of Trafalgar. There are very few people in Britain who’d be able to tell you even vaguely where the Battle of Trafalgar was on a map. Mind you, there are very few who’d be able to point out Britain on a map of the world.
In the wild, when predators sense that an animal is weak, they start circling. Prodding the poor creature to see when it’s the right time to move in for the kill. That’s exactly what’s happening with Britain right now. She’s weak, dying and the vultures are circling. Slave trade reparations, Chagos island payout, Falkland island’s give away, Gibraltar give away, foreigners controlling so many councils, foreign aid give aways, British haters in the House of Lords. They can smell weakness and soon the death of Britain and they’re all positioned perfectly to feast on the carcass.
And remember folks, as you get up today at 7am and slog into the office to work all day to try to pay your ever increasing bills and higher taxes, that you’re helping to support the next boatload arriving at Portsmouth. Be happy in the knowledge that right now, they’re off the boat, in the hotel and tucking into a beautiful hot breakfast. Later they’ll go to the free gym then get a free bus to the town to do a bit of stealing and women watching. All paid for by you. Hurry up and get to work. Those migrants don’t pay for themselves you know.
Some years ago there was a film where a babysitter was in a house and the kids were asleep. She kept getting threatening phone calls. She bolted the doors to stay safe. Then came the terrifying realisation that the calls were coming from inside the house. The kids were killed. This is what’s happened in Britain with the government and the illegal dinghy arrivals together with massive uncontrolled immigration from the third world: we’ve spent years being told by the government that they’re sorting it. We’ve all thought of ways they could stop it. Ways they could save Britain. But then, after the latest arrivals in Portsmouth, there’s that terrifying realisation that the threat isn’t from mysterious gangs of people smugglers abroad. The people smugglers are the British government. They’re here inside the country. And they’re killing Britain.
Similar happened during the Biden “administration” where the borders were wide open and the government was literally flying illegal immigrants into the interior of America. Expect this to restart shortly.
Gee, I nearly forgot! Have to have a photo with the cutest granddaughter!
Sorry, I just couldn’t resist this one. Chalk it up to British Culture.
And now I’m here in the gents toilets at The Philharmonic Dining Rooms (which is a pub) in Liverpool. It’s a pub that actually markets itself by beckoning passing folk, both men and women, in to see the gents toilets. This was a favourite pub of The Beatles and especially John Lennon who once said that the price of fame, was no longer being able to go to The Phil for a quiet pint. It’s also the pub which appears on James Corden’s carpool karaoke where Paul McCartney tours Liverpool with him and ends by putting on a little gig in this pub, much to the absolute shock of the customers drinking there. Well worth a watch. Cheers 🍻
Monday evening thoughts:
Britain and its residents are becoming more and more divided. It used to be that you voted Labour or Conservative and inbetween elections, you rarely said which and it was rarely discussed. Now though, it’s Labour, Conservative, Reform, Restore, Greens and several others and it’s discussed endlessly. Then there’s Gaza and you’re either for Gaza or not. You’re either pro Israel or not. Pro immigration or not. These and a dozen or more other issues. So you may agree with someone on one thing, but hate them for their views on another. And there isn’t a discussion; there’s you’re right and they’re wrong. When I was young, there were three tv channels and everyone in the whole country watched certain shows. A United country. A United Kingdom if you will. Now though, it’s divided more than ever and additional divisions added daily. I’ve had a think and I don’t think that’s a recipe for a prosperous, harmonious and happy country. United we stand and divided we fall. We seem to have chosen the latter. Anyway, here’s my phone snap as I walked across the bridge over a London canal with the moon shining brightly last night. I thought it was a beautiful sight.
I see Andy Burnham’s going to open a Ministry of Truth, enabling the government to tell us what the truth is, which is definitely not what we can all see with our own eyes, but what they tell us it is. Orwell’s 1984 wasn’t seen as a warning by Labour, but an instruction manual. My photo of Gas Street basin, Birmingham, that I took whilst moored there a few years ago. I thought it gave the right feel to my post.
It is time to realise that not only are the British government the people smuggling gang, but they are also actively allowing terrorists into the country (Hamas bodyguard) and siding with Iran; a country not known for its love of Britain. It’s time to stop pointing out that the government are destroying Britain. To stop complaining that the Labour government are supporting immigrants who’ve been in the country two seconds over the needs of English, Irish, Scottish and Welsh people who have been here for generations. It’s time to start planning an escape, because Andy Burnham has announced there won’t be an election for three more years and by then, there won’t be a Britain. There will however, be an Islamic state and you and I won’t be welcome.
Coming soon to the United States of America. Be prepared.
And some Promotion for the Photographer. He does ship world-wide.
Oh my goodness!!! My latest book; Wanders in London (& Other Foreign Lands) has just arrived and it’s magnificent, if I do say so myself. Over 200 pages of my photographs and my thoughts about each one. Anyone without a copy of this is living an unfulfilled life. Available here: 👉https://alastairhiltonphotographer.com/books-for-sale?scrollToProduct=wanders-in-london-other-foreign-lands👈
I’ve had a think and decided that people who work, don’t claim benefits and pay the taxes that keep this country going, should be rewarded each month by the government. They should be given free iPhones, free massages, free driving lessons, free houses or flats in London and free weekend breaks. To pay for these rewards for working and supporting Britain, all benefits claimants after six months of claims, will forfeit their houses and flats in London and be put in a field and given a tent to live in. They will also be given a fishing rod each, because as Oxfam used to tell us about aid to Africa: buy a man a fishing rod and he can feed himself forever. We’ve paid for a bloody lot of fishing rods for Africa over the past 60 years and it doesn’t seem to have helped, but maybe benefits claimants here will learn to fish quicker to feed themselves. Anyway, to accompany this blue sky thinking, here’s a photo I took some time ago of the incredible sunlight reflecting off a skyscraper in London. It’s not edited in any way, it’s real and beautiful. Just like my idea.
This is shocking and not sustainable. This is the amount my friend is paying each year to fund other people’s benefits. My friend lives in Chiswick on the border with Acton. The local MP is Rupa Huq of the Labour Party. As you’ll tell from the MPs name, she is not English. Almost nobody in Acton is English. Almost nobody in Acton can speak English. Nearly £3,000 per year my friend is paying so that people who have just arrived in this country and who have contributed zero, can have a free house, free money for life and never work. £3,000 per year. And every day, this government is importing thousands more who will not contribute, but will cost English people a lot of money. I don’t think that’s right. I really don’t.
Something pleasant to end with. So, now you get a bird’s-eye view of what is coming here, after having already ruined there.
