I think the new theme makes my blog easier on the eyes, and allows more post excerpts in the same space. My old theme color scheme really didn’t allow for BOLD text to be easily distinguished from normal-this one is way better!

Thanks! I do think the new theme needs a “featured image” for every post. I may go back and add to existing posts but will have one for new posts.
Good idea. On my own blog, I have a set of “featured images” with the word “featured” in the image name. They’re somewhat thematic, as in “crafts,” “farm,” “travel,” “life and death,” “medieval” (a big one for me) “patriotism,” “plain speaking” and so on. Probably about a dozen in total. I try to use them whenever I can, although I’m not opposed to adding a new one if I have to, and in the hope that I’ll use it often. I include one as the featured image on each post, which goes to my twitter feed, and then I put whatever images I like within the post itself. This saves me from having to create a different featured image for each post and (in my mind anyway) gives some structure to the site. Just a thought.
