I have to hand it to Brandi Kruse, local podcaster for breaking this big story. It seems that a Democrat State Senator accidentally sent their tax plans to ALL state Senators, instead of just the Democrats. Here’s her post.
And here are the screenshots of what the majority DemocRats have in store for the unfortunate citizens of our state if they can get them passed. Remember, we will have a virtually all-DemocRat legislature, with little opposition, and none if the Dems hold together. We are in for some pretty onerous tax increases on literally everything you do or buy or sell here.
For the Left, it’s all about the “messaging”. When they lose, it’;s never the fault of unworkable or horrible policies, it’s always that they didn’t promote their policies well enough, and the stupid peons didn’t understand that it’s all for their own good. Now, you will know what they really mean when they tell you that higher taxes are absolutely necessary for the people of Washington.
Do you work for a large corporation like Boeing or Amazon or Microsoft? The payroll tax and B&O tax increases will hit them hard, and they will have to cut costs elsewhere to remain in business here. YOU are a cost. If this passes, expect job cuts or corporations leaving the state altogether (easy for tech companies). “Wealth taxes” have been tried elsewhere, and never, ever work. There is no good way to measure wealth, which changes continuously, and will result in more wealth simply exiting the state. Kamala Harris floated that idea in her losing presidential run, and got raked over the coals for it. The second picture explains most of the first.
And, finally…
So, Washingtonians, you now know what your mostly-DemocRat legislature intends to do to you with their newfound power. And do remember that ALL taxes “flow downhill”. Citizens ultimately pay ALL taxes on every entity that is taxed. It all lands on you. How many citizens will be able to handle this level of new taxation from the benevolent State? How many citizens will simply give up and leave? You do get what you vote for. Good and Hard.

Unless & until the good people in the State of Washington stand up & vote the DemonRats out, we’re stuck with higher taxes, more homelessness, etc., from bureaucratic nightmare scenarios like this tax increase. You cannot keep voting for the same majority party & expect different results. All in the name of social justice, & climate change BS! Wake up people! Seriously considering getting out of here while we still can…
Hubby has been resistant until now. We are discussing actually leaving.
Yeah…work your whole life to create a comfortable retirement & watch the grandkids grow, thrive & create their own dream to reality scenario only to have these psycho-libs enact laws without a vote of we the people to take more & more of what is yours. Moving has not been on our radar at all till recently, the trade off being is there really a better place to go…
No place is perfect, but a lot of places are better. Tradeoffs, as always.
