This week, a Republican election observer for the 2024 election was tried and convicted of a Felony. His crime? Declining to wear a mask while observing the ballot counting in Island County, a tiny county in the far northwest of the state. The mask mandate was issued by the county Auditor, with no higher regulatory authority (no health department rule).
It is true that the former governor kept our state under a Covid Emergency for 900 days, almost a year longer than the federal declaration lasted, so he could retain absolute power over nearly the entire state economy, and many citizens and government agencies retained an irrational fear of catching the disease.
