To the Left, everything is political.

Including their pets! Aside from the fact that the radical left environmental lobby has been pushing for the elimination of all pets in the name of “saving the planet”, in the last couple of days I discovered some pet-owners who take their leftism to a whole new level.

My readers will know that I follow a number of cat accounts on X. We cat lovers are an enormous group, literally all over the world. Cat servants (not owners, since your cat owns and trains you) range from crazy cat ladies to techies, to retired Englishmen puttering around in their gardens, to universities and schools.

I was surprised and a bit alarmed to see this reply post on the page of one of my favorite internet cats. The author of this post is a well -known novelist whom I already knew was a cat person. This did set me back a bit.

Antifa cats?!!

My snarky reply, if I were a glutton for punishment, would have been “So your cats are domestic terrorists now?”. I am aware that Joyce Carol Oates is a huge leftists, but I think that making your cats Antifa goes a bit far. I also discovered that she is not alone.

Antifa cat in Italy

It is significant that the above owner’s name is Parodi!! His cat is already dressed in “black bloc” attire.

I think it’s sad that these pet owners even have to involve their unknowing little furry companions in their deranged terrorism and destruction of Western civilization. If I were that deranged, I would wish their cats to claw them into ribbons, then find new owners that will not involve them in unsavory activities.

  1. “Tutto nello Stato, niente fuori dello Stato, niente contro lo Stato”

“everything within the state, nothing outside the state, nothing against the state”

The left holds rallies and calls them “No Kings”, but when they are in power, no one is allowed to do anything not approved by them. No guns, no freedom of religion (for Christians and Jews, anyway), limits of free speech, limits of the type of toilet, lightbulb, car you can buy. The state runs every single thing when they are making the decisions.

    1. I am debating whether I should stop following Missy’s mom, due to her encouragement of leftist violence. Her account has been almost entirely non-political up until now, but since Missy is gone I don’t have a compelling reason to keep following her. She doesn’t follow this blog so she would not see my comment. I certainly don’t follow Oates, and I intend to block her now.

The left is crafty at promoting things that are difficult to argue with. “Saving the Earth” is an expression intended to stifle debate on the basis that the person who utters it must know more about the subject than you do and therefore any supposed prescriptions that person offers must be well thought out and you would mark yourself as an inconsiderate lout if you don’t at least offer verbal sympathy. But the expression is superficial past the point of sopiphistry and falls apart under any level of examination. Save the planet from what? Presumably falling into an unsatisfactory state that would present a hazard to life (it should be noted that the Earth has been through cycles of both fire and ice the likes of which were hazardous to all forms of life). The expression also implies that the Earth in its present condition exists for a purpose. Among those purposes would be supporting the needs and desires of human beings, among other living things. It is therefore counterproductive and illogical to attempt removing humans and human life from the equation, because it would defeat the purpose for which the Earth exists.
