From the window over my desk at work, I can see two big oak trees, on the perimeter of the property. They show me if it’s windy out, or calm, and their leaves are turning bright shades of gold. But I was struck by how different the two trees are from each other.
The tree on the left is turning gold much faster than the tree on the right, and they are right next to each other. Ain’t Nature wonderful? Those two trees are the same variety, but individual enough that their leaves turn autumn colors on different schedules.
