The pear tree in front of our house turns beautiful shades of red and purple, each autumn. The leaves ripple, creating not only color interest, but appealing shapes, both before and after they drop from the branches, to the ground underneath. When I arrived home after work today, I took some pictures.

One of the benefits of living in the Pacific Northwest is that the fall and winter are wet, and the grass stays green. The red and purple leaves make a nice contrast on the green grass.
These are gorgeous. I love living in Texas, but I have to admit that I really miss autumn. I used to live in the northeast and the Appalachian autumn is just indescribably beautiful.
