We awoke this morning to reports of a terror plot against President Trump’s big celebration and UFC event on the White House lawn. It seems that a young guy from Ohio was plotting with others online for a mass-casualty attack with explosive-laden drones and firearms. Here are some quotes from an article at TownHall.com.
According to Fox News’ Bill Melugin, citing the affidavit, one of the alleged organizers of the terror plot was a California man named Michael Alan Thomas. Federal law enforcement says Thomas admitted he believed the United States government is controlled by a cadre of elites who sacrifice and eat children, were involved with Jeffrey Epstein, and are protected by President Trump. Thomas also allegedly blamed “the Jewish people” in part for the corruption within the U.S. government and blamed them, along with Israel more broadly, for the war with Iran.
Thomas reportedly considered himself the group’s “planner” and “advisor,” although he was unwilling to take any actions himself. The group communicated through Signal, and authorities say they uncovered maps and diagrams of the UFC event that included suggested sniper positions and other tactical details

The Internet has enabled people from widely-dispersed places to get together to plan mass-casualty events, acquire materials, and arrange all the aspects of a terror incident. Encrypted messaging from places like Signal and Telegram make it possible to communicate under the radar. It’s a good thing the FBI and other law-enforcement agencies keep an eye on them all, to intercept plots like this before they go into motion.

More information will be forthcoming as the FBI delves deeper into the plot, and locates and arrests more of the conspirators.
