The World Cup is gone from Seattle. Now what?

Now what? Just back to the way things used to be three months ago, and maybe worse. The people in the Chinatown-International District are taking their anger (at the dumping on their already dirty, crime-filled streets of the homeless criminals and addicts from the SODO area to keep them from disturbing the international tourists) to the streets.

The CID is full of small, local businesses run by the vast Asian community in Seattle, and formerly was a bustling, clean neighborhood where many from all over Seattle would come for Chinese herbal medicines, Asian foods, and many different kinds of Asian restaurants. Now, it’s just a mess.

Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson says ‘bye’ to her Director of Communications. This comes after she fired her Chief of Staff and forced out the Chief Advisor of Homelessness. “Mayoral spokesperson Sage Wilson did not specify the reason for the changes but confirmed they had occurred.” Yea, we all watch the Mayor’s office enough to understand why this “change” happened. Now to see who else she fires.. Randy Diamond |

Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson seeks ban on rental “junk fees”, hidden landlord charges.

Seattle Times reported that the proposal, sent to the Seattle City Council this week, would create a specific list of fees landlords are allowed to charge. Any fee not explicitly authorized would be prohibited.

Permitted charges would include security deposits, utility surcharges, late rent fees, key replacement, bounced checks, and parking. However, landlords would no longer be allowed to charge separate fees for pet rent, mail service, use of in-unit appliances, paying rent by check or money order, or access to common areas.

Seattle already has HUGE “tenant protections” that make it very difficult for small landlords to make any profit. During the pandemic, and for long afterwards, many tenants stayed in their units without paying rent, and the city stood behind them. Many landlords sold and left town, and are still doing so.

And Seattle Taxpayers will be on the hook for all those “trans” surgeries and whatever maintenance Katie decides to extend to them. Seattle and Washington already sponson out-of-state women to come to the state and city for abortions that are illegal in their own states.

And just in case you didn’t get the picture…

Dear lord what a nightmare!

Who wants to help our team with an intervention this week and clean up?

This camp is behind the QFC off Rainier Ave. S.

Here is the terror these neighbors live with:

Hello Andrea,

I’ve been following your work in Beacon Hill and appreciate your efforts to address the ongoing drug and homelessness crisis.

My partner and I have lived in the Forest Street Townhome Community at S. McClellan St. and 24th Ave S since 2008. Over the years, conditions have deteriorated significantly due to the long-standing encampment across the street. Open drug use, fires, violent incidents, and vehicles used as shelters have become commonplace. I no longer feel safe walking to Mt. Baker Station.

In just the past two weeks, we have experienced:

A police standoff involving shots fired, with more than nine police vehicles responding
Three fire department responses
Encampment residents entering our property to take bins, use water, and charge devices
The impact on residents is severe. Two townhomes in our community are currently for sale, and both listing agents have reported that buyers are deterred by the encampment and visible drug activity. Property values are suffering, and residents are being driven from the neighborhood.

For more than a decade, this location has received temporary interventions without a lasting solution. The continued presence of the encampment is undermining public safety, quality of life, and home values.

We have worked with Councilmember Eddie Lin’s office, but progress has been limited. While services for encampment occupants continue, the impacts on surrounding residents remain largely unaddressed.

We respectfully ask for your support and advocacy to help bring a lasting solution to this location. Our community urgently needs action to restore safety, stability, and livability.

Sincerely,
Jane and Jane

Seattle will continue on its downward trajectory until it can’t get any lower. Socialism cannot work, it has NEVER worked, and it has caused untold human death and misery for over a century. Seattle will continue to elect far-leftists, because no one else runs for office there. They haven’t seen the worst of it yet.
