Some Seattle city leaders are calling on Mayor Katie Wilson to turn all of the city's surveillance cameras back on after the cameras around the Stadium District were turned back off this week.

I would love to live in a fantasy land, but telling the truth is more important. This is what downtown Seattle looked like a mere 48 hours after the World Cup. Telling the truth about Seattle's immense challenges is not mean. It's not negativity. It is the only way to save lives… https://t.co/PrrP7r6Ek2pic.twitter.com/IxlNZk1J52
The answer seems to be: Same old, same old. The cleanup for the World Cup was just that, a temporary cleanup, and now that the tourists are gone, so is the cleanup. Many tourists from around the world said how beautiful Seattle was, but they didn’t see the true Seattle, just a Potemkin Seattle. The fleeting facade of beauty and cleanliness has dropped, and the crime, drugs, homelessness, and filth continue. Nothing is stopping it, and nothing can or will, until rock-bottom is reached.
Here’s what’s happening in Seattle politics.
Pay Attention Washington State
Democrat Socialists of America (DSA)

"The most important thing we can do is take that (American) empire down from within."
DSA members make it clear what their goal is: Destroying America.
These are who Seattle voters elect, primarily because no one but Far-Left and Communist candidates run. Locals impacted by the homelessness, crime, drugs, and trash complain all day long, yet they still vote for the candidates that enact socialist policies that drive away small and large businesses alike.
EXCLUSIVE: WATCH as Daniel Damien Couch, 30, armed with a machete, allegedly smashes the windows of a Metro bus near Fourth Avenue South and South Jackson Street in Seattle’s Chinatown-International District on July 2.
After midnight when the driver of Metro Route 7 stopped to pick up passengers. Court records state that Couch loaded a pink bicycle onto the bus’s front rack while wearing a machete strapped to his chest. The driver reportedly recognized Couch from an incident about a month earlier in which he allegedly kicked the front door of the same bus, breaking a window.
The driver denied Couch entry because of the previous incident and because he was armed with the machete, according to prosecutors.
Authorities allege Couch responded by using the machete to shatter two side windows and severely crack the bus’s windshield before leaving the scene. Deputies later located a man matching the description nearby and detained him. The bus driver subsequently identified Couch during a field identification, according to the probable cause statement.
Court documents state that after being advised of his Miranda rights, Couch admitted to damaging the bus. Investigators also recovered a machete during a search incident to his arrest. Prosecutors say the damage rendered the bus unsafe to operate, requiring its removal from service and causing a temporary interruption in Metro operations.
Although deputies initially booked Couch on probable cause for first-degree malicious mischief, prosecutors ultimately filed a charge of second-degree malicious mischief, alleging he knowingly created a substantial risk of interrupting public transportation service by damaging a public transit vehicle.
Prosecutors asked the court to maintain $30,000 bail, citing what they describe as an extensive criminal history and repeated failures to appear in court.
According to the bail request, Couch has had 44 warrants issued since 2015 for failing to appear or comply with court orders and currently has one active warrant. His criminal history includes felony convictions for third-degree assault and felony criminal mischief with a deadly weapon, along with misdemeanor convictions for assault, theft, malicious mischief, unlawful weapon offenses, and violating a court order.

King County judges have a reputation for lenience in regard to prolific offenders like the one shown above. They let them back out on the streets with little or no bail, to offend again and again. The judicial system at the local and county level has abdicated its responsibility to protect the taxpaying public from criminals. Criminals commit more and more crimes, until they finally kill someone. Sometimes even then, they are let back out on the streets.
EVEN KING COUNTY JUDGES’ OWN STAFF MEMBERS ARE ASSAULTED BY REPEAT OFFENDERS, AND THEY ARE STILL LET OFF WITH MINIMAL OR NO PUNISHMENT!

After months of fierce debate, emotional public meetings, and neighborhood concerns about safety, the doors are officially open at Kirkland's newest housing facility for people experiencing homelessness.
The neighbors of this new “low-barrier” shelter (specifically ALLOWS residents to keep on using and selling drugs) strenuously objected to its being located in their area, already being familiar with the crime and drugs and noise and police presence that these shelters always bring. Their concerns were ignored, and the shelter opened anyway. You can almost see their property values plummeting in real time. And, now that the state law allowing these shelters everywhere is in effect, there is nothing they can do. Except sell at a loss and leave. And now they will have to leave the state entirely to escape what the DemocRAT legislature has planned for us.
Even the Seattle Public Schools is as the mercy of the Homeless-Industrial Complex!
Seattle Public Schools (SPS) placed eco-blocks outside its SODO headquarters to deter RVs and encampments, but the city has deemed the barriers illegal because the district never obtained a permit.https://t.co/AGb0ExfLgg
Which is ironic, since the Teachers Union essentially runs the state (largest funder of the DemocRAT Party). Get this:
Imagine an organization -that took in $64 million tax free dollars every year -Almost entirely by taking money directly from its employees paychecks -not by selling anything or providing a public service -paid no taxes on that money to the state -donated $15 Million taken from its employees to a national political organization —again, tax free
Paid its CEO nearly $200K -Then paid an additional $116K salary to the CEO as a kickback salary from the national org where he donated the $15million of employee money -So total CEO pay is $325K per year -Then spends copious amounts of the remaining funds on creating new taxes for the citizens of the state -But when that isn’t enough- the organization lobbied, and/or cajoled politicians into passing an unconstitutional income tax -For which they are now proudly taking credit
And then having the chutzpah to go out and say they still don’t have enough… oh its never enough
Meet Larry Delaney -Greedy public Parasite -President of the WEA -Taker of $64 million of untaxed dollars every year -Self Interested taker of taxpayer monies -creator of zero value -hypocrite of the day
It could never be enough to satisfy the WEA greed.

So you can see what is in store for Seattle after the World Cup. And this doesn’t even take into account how big businesses and local restaurants are closing their doors, leaving empty storefronts and big holes in tax receipts for cities and counties. Which, of course, leads to ever-higher taxes on the citizens remaining. The elected officials at all levels in Washington State NEVER consider cutting spending. Just increasing taxes until other people’s money runs out.
By the way, here’s the Party Platform just promulgated at the state Dem convention.
THREAD: The Washington State Democratic Party delagates unanimously adopted a 76-page platform that reads like a roadmap for the radical left:
Reparations. Doubling down on the failed “Housing First” model “Non-women” No merit in higher ed. And blaming Jews for antisemitism
WA Dems brag that they are “first in the nation” to add reparations to the party platform. WA was founded as a free state decades after the Civil War. The only institutional slavery was Native American tribes, which subjugated each other.
Below is part of the Reparations document.
I will let my readers get the rest of the platform from the link below, as it’s a very long one. But you get the Socialist idea.
