Hello from the Beautiful Pacific Northwest. News that might interest you.

It has been a very eventful week, here in the warm, smoky, increasingly uncomfortable Seattle area. The most prominent news has concerned the air quality (horrible from wildfire smoke from BC and Eastern Washington), temperature (highs in the 80s), and traffic congestion from the “normal” road closures for construction and accidents. Every day brings headlines about another deadly crash. And then, there is the near-daily news of another store closure or big layoff at Northwest companies.

Add to those, the constant reports of Far-Leftist judges thrashing around in their courtrooms, ruling against the People who challenge the ballot description (written by the Leftist Secretary of State’s Office) on the petition to repeal the Income Tax (unconstitutional) passed by the Far-Left Democrat legislature, and the Socialist Mayor of Seattle floundering around the subject of the mass-shooting at the Bite of Seattle (suspect STILL not captured), and you have a situation ripe for unrest and depression. Our legacy media, fully on the side of the Far Leftists and Public-employee Unions, put their thumb on the scale of support for the Income tax, and against the majority of the citizens.

And then, and then… Wildfires breaking out at Snoqualmie Pass and near Mount Rainier! Links are stories at MyNorthwest.com today. If I am not mistaken, we now have wildfires in every single quadrant of the State of Washington. Our inept Dept of Natural Resources is way behind on containment efforts, and new fires seem to be springing up everywhere. Background.

This is how our DNR doesn’t think. In a previous post, I posted a video taken wheel we were near Mount Rainier, and it showed a huge amount of downed trees and overgrowth between living trees, just waiting for a spark to set them off. Arsonists have done their job in that respect. The State of Washington is captured by Far-Left business interests, whose interests do not correlate with that of the Taxpayers of Washington. Consequently, our State is burning, and arsonists are not imprisoned, but released to spread fires again.

This is our juvenile Northern Flicker. Note that he lacks the mustache he will have when he gets older. If you could see his chest, you would also notice that his black bib that will be crescent-shaped is still fuzzy. Also notice that he hasn’t quite mastered the art of clinging to the feeder at the bottom so he can access all the suet!
