About the death of Gloria Steinem, “Feminist Icon”

I knew she was still around, but didn’t know how old she was. 92. She was a well-known Radical Feminist, who was among the originators of Ms. Magazine, which I read in college. Along with her cohorts in the radical movement, she advocated women going immediately into the work force, and eschewing marriage and children. She believed that women were not only equal to men in every way, but BETTER than men in many areas, including intelligence, business sense, and management ability. Here’s one description of her life.

Gloria Steinem, Personification of the Women’s Movement, Dies at 92 https://nytimes.com/2026/09/03/us/politics/gloria-steinem-dead.html?smid=tw-share

MY SAY: I once attended a speech by Gloria Steinem at the University of Alabama in the 1980’s, sponsored by the Student Government Association. She spent the first 45 minutes making fun of and telling jokes about men. She saw us in the audience, maybe a dozen or so among over 150 females, but ignored us. During the Q&A I had my hand up for the whole 20 minutes or so she took questions. Not one from a man. My question? “Have you ever been married, and what do you think about the institution of marriage and your own parents?” Never got asked. In 1957 she had an illegal abortion, worked for the CIA, was married in 2000 for three years (husband died). Never had children of her own. Her mother was in and out of sanatoriums. Her father a traveling salesman. Her answer at the time would have been, “No. Not much.” And she was deeply troubled about how her mother was treated by establishment medical/psychiatric care. Her absent father left her and her mother.

Was she a product of her upbringing? Maybe, in that her mother was mentally ill and her father abandoned the family. But her life is mostly made up of the ideas that she promulgated as being the best way for all women to live, and those ideas have gone a long way toward the disintegration of Western Civilization. Her die-hard (pun intended) support for abortion, and her support of the “shout your abortion” movement made her somewhat hard-hearted. We have recently seen in Massachusetts and other Leftist states, laws approving abortion at ANY point in pregnancy, up to the moment of birth; also the support for late-term abortions which often result in the birth of a viable child. No society can long survive when it murders its own children.

Gloria Steinem was sold to America as a champion for women.

I see something very different.

Her brand of radical feminism didn’t elevate womanhood. It attacked motherhood, mocked traditional families, devalued femininity, and convinced generations that becoming more like men was somehow liberation.

The media called it progress.

I call it one of the greatest cultural losses of the last 60 years.

Women never needed to become less feminine to become more powerful.

Never fold.

Another good description of Steinem’s career and her influence on modern society.

BREAKING: Gloria Steinem is dead at 92!! I’m sure the media will spend the day celebrating her as a feminist icon.

I won’t. She helped sell generations of women a worldview that treated motherhood and traditional womanhood as shackles while presenting abortion as “liberation”. We were promised that dismantling literally EVERY traditional expectation placed on women would make us “freer, happier and more fulfilled”.

Complete lies from the pits of hell. Decades later, I think the cultural wreckage obviously speaks for itself. I honestly believe America will be dealing with the consequences of this demonic ideology for generations. Now, it’s between her and God…

Her influence on today’s women, young and old, is manifest. More women than men graduating college, getting high-powered jobs right away, doing well in all levels of education, becoming lawyers, judges, and elected officials. But for every woman getting ahead due to “affirmative action” and DEI, a man who might be better qualified is getting left behind. Women in the military have had standards of physical fitness lowered for them, and sometimes becoming a burden to their platoon mates. Women getting pregnant and pitting men against each other for favors, have made all the military services less ready for combat.

The women who do get married and have kids, try to make their little boys into girls, since girls are better. The “transgender” fad has feminist women literally turning their boys into girls, ruining them for life. Look at all the actresses with multiple “trans” kids! Boys growing up with feminist mothers can’t get ahead as themselves, and it’s easy for them to turn to drugs or crime.

The birth rates around the world have collapsed, mostly due to more women in the workforce and fewer women having babies. Radical Feminism led to skyrocketing rates of abortion in advanced Western countries. In places like Europe and Japan, young men are demoralized and refusing to date women or get married. Intimidated by Strong Women who treat them like dirt and then wonder why they can’t attract husbands. Radical Feminism not only promoted women, it denigrated men (see: Toxic Masculinity), and we see the adverse effects everywhere. Men and boys using drugs and dying of overdoses, remaining in their parents’ basements instead of looking for work. Watch ANY television commercial for almost any product, and you see women presented as the smartest, most competent members of the family, and men treated as stupid, ignorant boobs.

No apologies here. I won’t mourn the death of Gloria Steinem, and I will pray that her adverse influences on society are not permanent. If they are, Civilization itself may be doomed.
