Just recently, the Everett, Washington School District lost a lawsuit brought by a Christian group, alleging that it denied students their religious liberty in an egregious way. This story made the national news in more than one place. It is well known that all cities in Western Washington are very Leftist, and my town is no exception. Below are some news stories discussing the issue.

Everett, WA school district forced elementary kids to hide their Bibles in sealed envelopes, and now they owe $275K and a public apology.
LifeWise Academy offers voluntary, parent-permission, off-campus Bible instruction during school hours. It’s legal under decades-old Supreme Court precedent. That didn’t stop Everett Public Schools from targeting it.
- Required students to seal Bibles and materials in envelopes and stuff them in backpacks so other kids wouldn’t “be exposed” to them.
- Demanded weekly hand-delivered permission slips.
- Barred LifeWise from school fairs and flyer boards open to everyone else.
A board member openly admitted he held “animus” toward the program, calling it “homophobic bullies” pushing an “authoritarian theocracy.”
A federal judge slapped them with a preliminary injunction for viewpoint discrimination. Facing a trial, the district settled: $275,000 in legal fees, mandatory religious liberty training for the board, policy changes, and a public apology posted on the district website for six months.
This is what it looks like when activists on a school board try to drive out a Christian program that parents actually want. They lost. Religious liberty still matters in public schools, even in Washington.

Everett, just like Seattle, has hired in a bunch of radical anti-Jesus, Luciferian individuals who want to teach our children they are multi-gendered; rather than Math, Spelling, History and the like. These current day “teachers” all need to be heavily screened, their social media heavily examined, and any who are pushing these agendas, REMOVED FROM THE EDUCATION SYSTEM IMMEDIATELY AND PERMANENTLY; NEVER ALLOWED TO TEACH AGAIN, IN ANY STATE. Aside from the religious liberty issue, is the fact that the payment to the plaintiffs will come from MY TAX DOLLARS! And the involved individuals will suffer nothing more adverse than “religious liberty training.” And they will learn nothing more than how to conceal their discrimination from the public and parents. Please also note that Washington State’s Superintendent of Public Indoctrination has promulgated statewide rules mandating homosexuality and “gender identity” training for ALL students, beginning in kindergarten. Polluting the minds of youngsters from Day One in the government schools.
Is it any wonder that student populations are shrinking, as parents pull their children out of the public schools to home-school them or send them to private and religious schools? There was just a story locally about the Olympia Public schools (the state capital) proposing elementary school closures due to declining enrollment. Yet, property taxes for schools continue to increase, while performance and enrollment decline.
And then, there’s the ever-present Immigration issue. Everett is full of non-English-speaking children of illegal immigrants. City government recommends that local police interfere with ICE operations. Aiding and abetting illegal immigration.
Cassie Franklin, mayor of City of Everett, WA, escalates tension and directs city law enforcement to INTERVENE WITH ICE OPERATIONS AT THEIR OWN DISCRETION — putting everyone at greater risk.
She also directs city workers to city workers to impede ICE operations and expose the location of ICE officers and agents.
Working AGAINST ICE forces federal teams into the community searching for criminal illegal aliens released from local jails — INCREASING THE FEDERAL PRESENCE.
Working with ICE reduces the federal presence.
If Mayor Franklin wanted to protect the people she claims to serve, she’d empower the city police with an ICE 287g partnership — instead she serves criminal illegal aliens.
We citizens are fighting our own government which does not represent us. Only their Leftist preference for illegals over taxpaying citizens.
