Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #127: Precious Moments

I've had a pretty long life, at age 71.  I've been through two marriages, multiple careers, dozens of jobs, many layoffs, a fair amount of therapy, and years of education.  This year, the Plague Year, has had its share of precious moments, especially, for me, those moments when I chose to defy the first actual …

Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #126: Alphabet, Subjects beginning with the Letter “A”

This week's challenge turns out to be more difficult than I had anticipated.  I had lots of subjects in mind, but then thought a little harder.  With all the very upsetting things happening in our Nation this year, I have decided that, for me, the most important "A" subject must be, America.  At age 71, …

Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #125: You Pick It

As long as I get to pick my subjects, I will post some of what I consider to be the best photos I have taken for this blog.  Most have been spur-of-the-moment captures that just said "take my picture". Then: Japanese Maple tree in full fall red foliage. Now: …

Happy Bird-days!

Our yard this week has been a bird madhouse.  We have had flocks of bushtits, a rufous-sided towhee, black-capped and chestnut-backed chickadees, a Bewick's wren, red-breasted nuthatch, and juncos.  And who should put in an early appearance?  Our Townsend's Warbler!  He usually doesn't arrive until late December.  Sorry for the reflections, but the picture was …

Beautiful Glacier National Park in Summer

Finally, I'm getting around to doing the last big post from our trip to South Dakota in September.  The last time we were in Montana, in 2017, the sky was filled with smoke from multiple wildfires, and all our plans to explore Glacier Park with our Ricochet friends had to be cancelled.  Both ends of …

Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #123: Found in the Neighborhood, AND Post #800 on Calling-all-Rushbabes!

I wondered what to do for Milestone Post Number 800 on my blog, and shortly thereafter was presented with the perfect answer!  Now, my readers know that I live in the Pacific Northwest, Everett, Washington to be exact.  Our immediate neighborhood is nothing unusual-just a pretty normal subdivision.  However, our yard is not like the …
