The new state motto, pushed by the governor Fenty Fergie, and his AG Nick Brown, seems to be “Standing up to Trump”, regardless of how futile and costly to taxpayers it is.
Our cost of living here just goes up and up, driven by high and rising fuel prices, increasing property taxes (and all other taxes and fees), and grocery prices that put many people on the ragged edge of survival. Scandals never stop hitting, as our rulers work for their big donors, and not for their constituents. Here are some of those exhausting stories.
Just the logical result of a stupid policy that is lucrative for cronies, and destructive for people. The ferry is a marine highway, and many citizens must use it to get to work. Commute costs for island- dwellers are skyrocketing and tourists become angry when they miss connections due to delays.
This is just one story about Kroger closing multiple stores, due to rampant shoplifting and theft, and the increasing costs of doing business as B & O taxes and other fees rise. County judges regularly release repeat offenders back onto the streets, to steal and steal again. No firm can remain in business with those headwinds.
Now for the big national scandal. Remember the story of the Indian illegal immigrant who killed three people making an illegal U-turn in his 18-wheeler?
And speaking of illegal invaders…
And then, there’s the crime. Buckle up.
Crime and drugs on the streets of Seattle.
Sound Transit train are known for being rolling drug dens and homeless shelters.
Maybe residents of Seattle are inured to it, but I won’t be, since I stay out of Seattle, and only report here, so my readers will see the disintegration of my formerly beautiful city. Its elected leaders care not a bit for the plight of their citizens.
How about a bit of real domestic terrorism to end this tale of woe? Here’s how our local agitators are responding to President Trump’s executive order urging the prosecution of people who burn American flags in public.
But these terrorists are happy to do it. Enriching the lives of all in the community. This is the depraved state of my state.
Re the Future42 video interview, I used to follow TJ Martinell, lost track, good to see him back.
Pretty positive they will blame any grocery price increase on Trump and tariffs. Stand by for lots of front page stories once the new state taxes go into effect. My leftist co-worker is already telling me that his friend is shutting down her chain restaurants in various places around Washington because the economy is getting worse, ignoring crime and taxes completely.
Robert Barnes says there is a recession coming. My guess is it will hit here first. He talks about a falling real estate market. Our property value went up 18% this year, but that’s not as bad as 2022, when it increased by 38%. We have to wait and see how much the actual taxes go up.
So sad. Cities used to be wonderful places, despite the bad side of urban life. Now it seems as if they are being intentionally made into microcosms of Hell itself. SMH.
