Unfortunately, May Day acquired a new meaning in the 20th Century, and that new meaning is not quite as joyful or benign as its previous celebratory meaning. Here’s why.

So, now, May Day is not just a celebration of new life and Spring, but an occasion for huge demonstrations, strikes, and often violence and riots. Children are now taken out of school by their leftist teachers, regardless of what parents want; school administrations don’t consider these absences unexcused, and the children lose a day of instruction for their teachers’ socialist causes. Lately, illegal immigrants are also celebrated on May Day. Here are stories from around America.
